The New Era of Hospitality Creators: Lessons from HCS
The inaugural Hospitality Creator Summit in San Antonio marked an important moment for the industry, bringing together creators, strategists, and operators to examine how digital storytelling is reshaping hospitality. Held alongside HITEC, the summit highlighted the growing influence of content in guest engagement, brand development, and B2B communication.
Founder Ana Blue opened the event by outlining the vision behind the summit and the rapid evolution of the creator economy within hospitality. Industry leader Anthony Melchiorri and members of the Creator Council expanded on this theme, discussing the state of the creator economy, the increasing sophistication of hospitality content, and the strategic role creators now play in both consumer and business markets.
From there, the agenda moved into a series of conversations that mapped the current and future landscape of hospitality content. The State of the Hospitality Creator Economy featured a candid discussion led by Ashli Johnson and Glenn Haussman on the trends shaping creator work today. The first Create Now moment, led by Christabel Nsiah Baudi, showcased real time content production. The Creator’s Playbook brought together Courtney Reimer, Pauline Gray, and Emily Claire Hughes to break down the strategies behind creator growth. The Future of Creating explored emerging opportunities with Erin Jones Wesley and Nathaniel Estis Green, while Creator Talks highlighted the realities of building influence with Susan Barry, Jen Glatt, David Millili, and Davonne Reaves. A second Create Now session reinforced the power of spontaneous but strategic storytelling. Behind the Brand Deal offered transparency from Tom Boyd and Jeff Thomas on how partnerships are formed. Shannon McCallum graced the stage to share her experience running one of the busiest resorts in the country at Resorts World. The day closed with The B2B Bet, where Gareth Fraser, Emily Leu, and Tom Reynolds discussed the expanding role of creators in business markets.
The summit underscored a clear message: hospitality is entering a new era where creativity, technology, and strategic communication intersect. The insights shared throughout the day reflected a sector that is rapidly innovating and increasingly reliant on creators who understand both the business and the guest experience.
